This is so gross. Why should we pay for the lunch of someone else’s kid? Because poverty is bad for society. Because kids don’t learn when they’re hungry. Because society gets better as we all become educated. Jesus Christ, how do people not understand that we thrive collectively

It's not free. It's paid for by taxpayers. And why should people pay for the "free" lunch of other people's children? Feeding your kids is the responsibility of parents. And if there are cases of social disadvantage where some kids aren't getting fed then we have a welfare system that needs to deal with it.
