I am a staunch believer in hypocrisy. Yes, I hold myself and people I like to completely different standards than I hold people I don't like. To feign shock or indignation at this is the tell of an unsophisticated midwit. Hypocrisy is a cornerstone of a functional society which understands the importance of the division between public and private life. Hedonism and vice should be done in private and publicly condemned. The extent to which a red-light district is ghettoized and made taboo is directly proportional to how pro-social it could possibly be. In fact, it is this hypocrisy, this double standard, which makes taboo, hedonism, and debauchery any fun at all. It is the democratization, regimentation, and sterilization of hedonism that removes all its erotic power - like an Aella birthday gangbang with its questionnaires and quantification and measures under florescent lighting making mundane what could, and would, otherwise be fun, erotic, and appealing.
