🌲 - 🇱🇧 Whole story: late at night, the Maghdouche Municipality received alerts regarding a suspicious motorcycle carrying two individuals circulating through the "Rous Al-Haddadin" neighborhood. A municipal patrol, consisting of two vehicles and several local young men acting as support, was dispatched to inspect the area. Upon arrival, the patrol found the motorcycle abandoned on the ground with no riders in sight. As the municipal team attempted to confiscate the abandoned motorcycle, a convoy of vehicles arrived from the Shiite town of Aanqoun. The convoy carried approximately eight young men and one woman. The group from Aanqoun immediately attacked the Maghdouche municipal patrol using sticks, sharp objects (knives), and physical force. The confrontation intensified when the attackers threw two stun grenades (sound bombs) to create panic. The attacking group unleashed a heavy burst of gunfire into the air, which lasted for approximately 17 minutes, terrorizing the Christian residential neighborhoods. During the chaos, the attackers smashed the windows and bodies of several parked civilian cars and municipal vehicles. Reports confirm at least one person was wounded during the altercation. The injured include municipal personnel who were beaten during the initial ambush. Intelligence patrols and units from the Lebanese Army heavily deployed to the scene and the border points between the two towns to prevent further sectarian escalation. The Army has cordoned off the area and initiated raids to arrest the perpetrators involved in the shooting.
