For many, the holidays can be a lonely and difficult experience for their mental health. If you know someone who is currently struggling, it is important to reach out and check in on them. If you are reading this and feeling isolated, you can always send me a message.

Hello everyone, I am sorry for not posting this year. I experienced some health issues and I needed to take a step back from work to recover. Thankfully, I am starting to feel better and slowly getting back to work. I look forward to posting more and reconnecting with you 😊

However, it is important to remember that no matter the stressor or situation happening in an environment, it is never appropriate to abuse someone else. Furthermore, even if the abuse doesn’t happen all the time doesn’t mean it cannot escalate more down the line (2/2).

TW: abuse One of the reasons why it can be hard to leave an abusive relationship is because there may be some good moments. We may start to fall into a bias where we assign the abuser’s good traits to their personality and abusive traits to external circumstances (1/2).

Validation is an important part of our mental health. It lets us know we are supported/loved. We are seeing the reverse of it happening, where there is a lot of validation for hate. It is important to be careful about what’s being asked of us in exchange for that validation.

Many people are just going through the motions of everyday life and feeling completely numb. When everything feels overwhelming, shutting down can feel like the only escape available. Even if it seems too much, it is important to try and connect with a loved one or get support.

My elderly and unwell parents are facing unbelievable mental, financial and physical harassment from @careinsuranceIN to whom they pay high annual premium since 2023. My mother, insured under Care, was hospitalised at Fortis with severe breathing problems on 20 January on urgent

There are times in our personal lives or in the world where there is too much uncertainty. It can be easier to experience anxiety thinking about all the possibilities. However, it is important to bring it back to what we can control and accept that most of it is outside of it.

Watching Palestinians going back home, feeling a bit of relief from the war for the first time in so long is so good to watch. It is also now that they need even more help as they process all they went through. This kind of pain and suffering has no place in our world.

This isn’t meant to be a strategy that applies to everyone or every type of trauma but as a guide for our progress. There are internalized inadequacies and anger for not being like “others”. But you also never asked to have that trauma and still have to deal with it.

When we are in that recovery phase, the comparison that works best is not other people, but ourselves a month ago or a year ago. If we are seeing no progress, most of the time it is because we are trying too much too soon or the goal is too ambitious for the severity we have now.

[small Thread] When it comes to trauma recovery, it is not a battle. Your mind is trying to do what’s intended and protect you from harm. Bullying ourselves into submission further adds to that trauma. We can certainly force ourselves and experience all the triggers.
