.@CWGC Beny Canadian War Cemetery, Reviers. Over 2,000 candles were placed on the graves yesterday. The camera was on a long exposure and no photoshop used.

This morning at Anzio, I delivered a message from 101 year old Anzio veteran Harry Shindler OBE, much-loved in the town and who was not able to be there today. As Harry put it: ‘Now it is up to us to defend the freedom which was won with such great sacrifice.’ #Anzio1944

Started the day as MC for the dawn service at the Wellington Quarry then a full day on the battlefields, some unique tunnels ending with a candlelit ceremony organised by @bb4x4 @CWGC Houdain Lane.
