John Bollinger

Bollinger Bands define high and low on a relative basis. By definition prices are high at the upper band and low at the lower band.

4 of 4: So, right or wrong? From one perspective I have been 'wrong' many, many times and will be wrong again many, many times. From another, I have only been wrong when I didn't follow my discipline. Happy trading.

3 of 4: 'Broken' patterns contian as much information that we should pay attention to as 'successful' ones. This is a very important concept. Setups that don't work as expected contain important environmental data. To wit, the breakage of the November pattern was itself a negative forecast.

2 of 4: In early November I spotted another BB pattern and it failed. As soon as it made a new low that was your exit. That was also a fire alarm. We look for these patterns all the time, places where the odds of success are in our favour and the amount risked is less than the potential gain. Setups are setups, they are neither right or wrong, they just tell us to be alert to a potential trade.

1 of 4: Right or worng? In October I spotted a BTCUSD BB pattern that resulted in a trip to the upper band. We 'should' have seen a better gain out of that pattern, so its 'failure' was an alert of potential weakness.

@Luvline_light Got a nice tag of the upper BB out of that pattern. If that's wrong, then I was wrong.
