📢 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱!!! As the Regional Secretariat of @GPPAC in West Africa, @bbforpeace is excited to announce the West Africa Peace and Security Dialogue 2025 (WAPSeD 2025), themed: 'Reimagining Peace and Security in West Africa: Local Solutions, Regional Solidarity, and Global Partnerships' which will be held on 5-6 November 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria. In recent decades, some West African countries have been faced with a myriad of challenges, ranging from undemocratic take overs, violent extremism, farmer-herder clashes, and religious extremism to maritime piracy, poverty and youth unemployment, armed conflicts, and transnational organised crime, all of which act as threats to peace, security, and development in the region. The WAPSeD 2025 will bring together peacebuilders, policymakers, civil society, and regional actors working on peace and security in West Africa to explore innovative pathways to strengthen #peace and #security in the region. Stay tuned for more updates. For partnerships and support, do well to reach out to us via: info@bbforpeace.org #WAPSeD2025 #PeopleBuildingPeace

𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲! At @bbforpeace, we believe that empowering women at the grassroots is key to building sustainable peace and resilient communities. Recall when @bbforpeace, @ominyainitiativ, and Breaking the Barriers Initiative empowered 30 women in Gosa Community, Abuja, with practical livelihood skills, as part of efforts to commemorate the International Women’s Day 2026. Through hands-on training in liquid soap production and Adire (Tie & Dye), the women gained valuable knowledge to start and grow their own businesses, strengthening their economic independence and confidence. After our skills training on liquid soap production, the women participants didn’t just learn, they took action. Over the weekend, they proudly produced liquid soap by themselves, turning knowledge into enterprise and confidence into independence. This success story is a powerful reminder that when women are equipped with skills, they become agents of change, driving economic growth and strengthening peace at the community level. Together, we are building blocks for #peace one skill, one woman, one community at a time. #PeopleBuildingPeace #TogetherforPeace #LeaveNoOneBehind #InternationalWomensDay2026

“Peace does not mean an absence of conflicts; differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means; through dialogue, education, knowledge; and through humane ways”. - Dalai Lama At @bbforpeace, we believe that sustainable peace is built when communities embrace dialogue, invest in education, and empower grassroots voices especially women and youth. This week, we urge you to work with us to transform differences into opportunities for collaboration, ensuring that #peace is not just an ideal but a lived reality. Together, we can foster societies where diversity is celebrated, and conflicts are resolved with empathy and respect. Wishing you a productive and #peaceful week ahead! #Youth4Peace #PeopleBuildingPeace #MondayMotivation

At @bbforpeace, we believe that true peace is built on the foundation of equality and opportunity. Our commitment to empowering women for economic independence is not just a program—it is a promise. We recognise that when women gain access to resources, training, and financial freedom, entire communities thrive. Economic independence gives women the power to make choices, to lead, and to transform societies from the ground up. Through mentorship, skills development, and sustainable initiatives, Building Blocks for Peace Foundation continues to stand with women, ensuring that their voices are heard, their talents are valued, and their futures are secure. Because when women rise, peace is strengthened. And when #peace is strengthened, the world gains. #InternationalWomensDay2026 #LeaveNoOneBehind

𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐧: 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐨𝐬𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 As part of efforts to commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day, on March 7, 2026, @bbforpeace, in collaboration with @ominyainitiativ and Breaking the Barriers empowered 30 women in Gosa Community, Abuja, with practical livelihood skills. Through hands-on training in liquid soap production and Adire (Tie & Dye), the women gained valuable knowledge to start and grow their own businesses, strengthening their economic independence and confidence. The training also included sessions such as basic entrepreneurship insights to help the Community Women turn the acquired skills into sustainable income opportunities. At BBFORPEACE, we believe that advancing women’s economic empowerment creates pathways for them to thrive within their communities and across the globe. We also believe that sustainable #peace cannot exist without equality, and equality cannot thrive without women having the tools, resources, and opportunities to stand strong on their own. So, we affirm our unwavering support to empower more women for economic independence. We count on your support to do more! #TogetherForPeace #PeopleBuildingPeace #LeaveNoOneBehind #WomenEmpowerment #InternationalWomensDay2026 #EconomicEmpowerment

On Friday March 6, 2026, @bbforpeace organised the first session of the 2026 Young Peacebuilders Fellowship on the ‘Introduction to Youth, Peace, and Security Agenda’ (UNSCR 2250 and Nigeria's National Action Plan on YPS). Our Executive Director, @RafiuLawal88 delivered the session. During the teaching, he enlightened the fellows on the journey which led to the adoption of the #UNSCR2250 and Nigeria’s National Action Plan on Youth, Peace and Security. At the end of the session, participants became more informed about the pillars of the UNSCR 2250. They had the opportunity to ask questions, and they were encouraged to domesticate the lessons learned in their respective localities. At BBFORPEACE, we remain committed to empowering young peacebuilders to transform challenges into opportunities for sustainable peace, and we are grateful to @ng_youthfund for mobilising us for this course. #Youth4Peace #NigeriaYouth4Peace #TheNigeriaWeWant #NigeriaYouthFuturesFund

“Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars ... Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” ― Martin Luther King Jr. Welcome to a fresh start! As you go about your dealings this new week, @bbforpeace would like to encourage you to spread love, peace, and positivity. For us at BBFORPEACE, we believe that true strength does not lie in retaliation, but in compassion. Every act of kindness is a spark that lights up the darkness. Every choice for peace is a step toward healing our world. Let’s choose love over hate. Let’s choose peace over violence. Together, we can be the stars that brighten up the world and make it more #peaceful place. Wishing you a beautiful and productive week ahead! #Youth4Peace #TogetherforPeace #PeopleBuildingPeace #MondayMotivation

The meeting was a critical step into ensuring that the strategic plan which is currently being developed is responsive, inclusive, and aligned with the perspectives of key partners and stakeholders. During the gathering, the actors, BBFORPEACE Team, and other invited guests rigorously reviewed the draft plan, provided constructive feedback, and contributed to its final refinement. Recall that in September 2025, this process started with a Staff strategy workshop. The BBFORPEACE Strategic Plan outlines our vision, priorities, and programmatic focus for the next five years, with particular emphasis on strengthening peacebuilding, youth and women inclusion, governance, and sustainable development across Nigeria, and Africa at large. Our gratitude goes to the @AUEUYouthLab programme and partners for providing us with this technical support to continually empower communities for #peace. #TogetherForPeace #PeopleBuildingPeace #LeaveNoOneBehind
