@bbirdbPhD 100%, I'm not gonna debate that. They do it in all types of way. I'm literally trying to learn woodwork from my father because he just makes stools instead of constantly buying shit. we can start somewhere. Will I build a house tomorrow? No. lol I must begin though.

I have a small garden and I absolutely harvest enough vegetables and herbs to last through the winter 🥴 y'all see what I mean when I say they turn every skill into a service and now nobody knows how to survive? The lack of access is intentional.

It pisses me fuck off that folks are seriously like “time to grow your own food” as if everyone just has the fucking space or access to resources to fuckin do that. As if the entire system hasn’t contaminated most everything we have, making us dependent on industrial agriculture.

@melancholicfro Yeah well most folks in this terrible system can’t afford, don’t have access, or don’t know how do that to actually survive year round. Couldn’t agree more.

@bbirdbPhD babes I live in an immigrant community. we garden year-round and my neighbors have chickens( community garden too). The type of change that we're about to undergo is not gonna be convenient. And that's the reality of the situation. It's not gonna be easy, but yes it's possible.

@TheChefsGardens @bbirdbPhD Buddy, "just do Z instead of Y" is the excuses that have been given by the privileged class for decades. The answer here is "be the change." We have to break and dismantle the systems first. Then we get sustainable change. You're a chef. How about starting a community program +

The key word here is “willingly” because obviously not everyone has financial access to high quality face masks. For me it’s about are you about it, when you can, or do you make excuses as if you don’t need to do what is right for the collective.

You cannot claim to want liberation for all while also willingly living in ways that contradict our mission. That’s exactly what we rightfully criticize neo/liberals and neo/conservatives for as supporters of the imperial core. You need to act like you give a fuck about us all.

I mean it when I say that folks who refer to themselves as communists who don’t face mask anymore to stand for disability rights and don’t speak out against the workers rights violations / environmental devastations of industrial animal / agriculture are dem. socialists, at best.

@TheChefsGardens @bbirdbPhD Having time is absolutely are privilege especially when some folks have long commutes for work, etc. As much as life is about choices, sometimes choices are limited by socioeconomics. It would be great if you could see and accept the lived experiences of others.

@TheChefsGardens @bbirdbPhD The cost of housing makes it difficult to purchase/rent a home with room for gardening. Many urban and suburban areas aren't built to support community gardens. Growing/making your own food requires education it also requires time. People have jobs. They are raising kids+

The fact is a lot of you want someone who’s humble, to a fault of undervaluing themselves, so you can feel better about whatever shit you have yet to heal inside.

And don’t you motherfucking dare try to pull the neo/liberal purity politics card. This shit is destroying our lives and the only planet we have. You need to fucking act like you know and show you care to fundamentally change that.

You know about COINTELPRO and yet you listened and believed the u.s. fucking government tell you that COVID-19, a virus that we know causes us cumulative full body damage, disability, and death, isn’t a fucking issue? Be so fucking for real.

Chrysilla - Tarot for the World We Want
Ironically, I came here to talk about starting my urban balcony container garden for the year. So this is a good time for me to remind everyone that urban gardening can be done on the cheap, but it's still a privilege to have the time, space & $ to do it. (Also like my sewing.)
