My father was a devoted student of the Bible. Growing up, I remember him at our kitchen table every morning, pen in hand, deep in scripture. He passed away in 2019, but my mom had one of his favorite Bibles—worn and overused—re-bound. She gifted it to my middle daughter, Abby, for her birthday two years ago. Abby was in tears when she received it. She said the gift meant so much to her because it was something used and cherished by her granddad. Every so often, she texts me to tell me how much she loves seeing his handwritten notes on almost every page. Even after his passing, my dad is still pouring wisdom into my kids. God is Good. And what a legacy. Go build one.
