Have tons of new faces following along so I figured I would reintroduce myself! I’m Zach Molzer, a Kansas City–based multifamily developer and the founder of Molzer Development. I graduated from the University of Nebraska and have been addicted to real estate for as long as I can remember. I officially launched Molzer Development in March of 2024, focused on adaptive reuse and ground-up multifamily projects across the Heart of America. Since then, we’ve scaled fast. Today, we have $45M+ in active development under construction, multiple projects breaking ground and stabilizing through 2026 and beyond. The flagship project is The Aladdin; a ~$37M redevelopment of a 100-year-old, 16-story historic tower in downtown Kansas City. We’re utilizing historic tax credits, preserving irreplaceable architecture, and turning a long-vacant icon into housing, amenities, and community space. Along the way, this account (& all of our socials!) have turned into something bigger than I expected. What started as sharing behind-the-scenes development updates has grown into a platform centered on transparency, numbers, wins, mistakes, and the actual process of building cities. We’re now +250,000 followers across platforms, averaging 7M+ views per MONTH. When I’m not on a job site or in a spreadsheet, you’ll find me: – Spending time with my girlfriend and family – On the golf course – Hanging with my dawgs – Trying new KC spots – Watching the Chiefs and the Huskers I believe deeply in building in public, owning your story, and using community as leverage; not just capital. Why Kansas City? We get this question a lot. Here's our thesis: 1. The market is on fire — and for good reason. KC is attracting employers, infrastructure, and talent at a pace that's hard to ignore. 2. Gateway to the West. Geographically and economically, Kansas City sits at a crossroads that gives it staying power most markets don't have. 3. World-class amenities. Best BBQ in the country (not up for debate), elite sports teams, a revitalized downtown, and the upcoming FIFA World Cup. 4. Real housing gap. Downtown KC needs quality, attainable housing. Supply hasn't kept up with demand. 5. We're building scale. With Aladdin moving fast, we're expanding our KC presence and compounding local knowledge and relationships. 6. Boots on the ground partners like @molzer and @DietCoke82 , who make it all worth it. You don't need to be in a coastal gateway to find exceptional risk-adjusted returns. Kansas City ❤️’s Molz Dev: Why does this matter? We can develop, build, pull permits, secure public/ incentives on ridiculous timelines. That means our projects can get built faster. Tenants move in faster. Investors get their $ back quicker. Perk of building in public.
