@RMac18 @kateconger Understanding the technical details of how this leak was accomplished could prove useful for others in tech and security professions. It feels foolish but I hope for Twitter to share root cause and lessons learned.

@RMac18 @kateconger Do we know what git system they use internally? I’m supposing this “leak” involved more complicated steps than forking a project/repo from private access to to public on GitHub.

Twitter says its source code was posted online and worked to get it taken down from GitHub on Friday. Now it's trying to unmask the anonymous user behind the leak. Our sources say that the person is a former Twitter employee who left last year. nytimes.com/2023/03/26/tec…
