NFT Retention ....again? I shared a retention chart yesterday for a different group of top NFT projects (@chimpers, @quirkiesnft, @Nakamigos, @pudgypenguins and @goodvibesclub) and the general takeaway was pretty clear that retention matters! Today's chart looks at 30 day buyer retention across BAYC, MAYC, CryptoPunks, Moonbirds and VeeFriends specifically, what percentage of wallets that bought in the last 30 days are still holding today. CryptoPunks stands out with around 90% retention, meaning the vast majority of recent buyers are still holding. BAYC sits around 69%, while MAYC drops to roughly 65% despite having the highest recent buying activity, which points to more short term holding. Moonbirds is lower again at around 57%, with VeeFriends near 63% retention rate, lovely and steady! Retention matters because it can tell you why people are buying. Retention gives a much clearer signal of conviction than volume alone. The question I keep coming back to is this: what’s actually a good retention rate for an established NFT collection today? Is 70% the benchmark or is anything consistently above 60% already strong in this market?

Veefriends on FIRE! Gary has been a little more active in recent days and there is no coincidence that sales have started to increase for Veefriends. Gary attended some spaces and picked NFT's from some projects and in turn, the founders and their communities returned the favour and picked up some veefriends NFTs! I loved to see it and I'm loving the volume and avg price chart being BULLISH!!

And the sixth recipient of the MikeJY Holo Cat PFP Pin is….. @mistirmesser!!! Selecting the first community member to receive this pin was always going to be a daunting task, but the resume that Rob has put up as it pertains to the time and effort he has put into @veefriends made this decision very very very very easy My first interaction with Rob goes back to April of 2022 right before the first @veecon. The message he sent me started like this: "Hey! I’m starting a little project based around OG VeeFam and documenting their origin stories in these early stages of VeeFriends. I am looking to record some conversations and turn them into a podcast." We didn't get a chance to connect at VeeCon 1, 100% my fault. But Rob sure did follow through on his mission. Rob founded the @VEEFAMsessions Podcast and released his first episode with @bookgamesinfo on 5/12/22. Since then, he has released 82 episodes with some major names, including all other Holo Cat Pin recipients @garyvee @krainak @jeremyknowsVF @adamripps @Corso52 The hours Rob has poured into this podcast have been countless. He has become the historian of VeeFriends and there is no one who has the knowledge of VF history that he does. Rob has set up really fun tournaments, singles nights, squares challenges, and a unique way to play TCG for those who can't afford the expensive Tier 1 core cards. He shows up every time there is a good cause that needs support. He has put in so much time and energy into making this community feel like an actual family. He is a family man with a great heart, and I'm very lucky to call him a friend. In my opinion, though he credits Gary for the name, Rob is the Godfather of the VeeFam name. And going forward, he will help me build out the #HallOfVeeFam Shoutout to his wonderful wife @chelscmess who helped me surprise him at the end of the podcast episode we just filmed (which is releasing tomorrow!) by hiding the pin in his office You are the sixth member of the #HallOfVeeFam And if you're single, make sure you hit him up 💚🐈‍⬛
