At ~5 PM on July 4th, a funnel cloud was spotted south of Alpine Creek Lodge along the Denali Highway between Paxson/Cantwell. Since this occurred in NWS Anchorage's area, here's how they determined it was a funnel cloud. Thanks to everyone who shared their photos/videos! #akwx

VIOLENT close range tornado intercept moments ago south of Rossburn, MB. Search and rescue underway.

Record flooding on the Biloxi River near Gulfport, MS and Major Flood Stage on the Wolf River and Jourdan River in Mississippi after feet of rain fell from Tropical Storm Arthur.

Anchor Lake Dam near Picayune, MS. Earthen dam being overtopped with the water still rising. NWS issued a PDS Flash Flood Emergency for areas downstream in case of catastrophic failure. Thanks to @JordanHallWX for the heads up. @jpetramala

Water rescues in the Flash flood emergency in Stone County Mississippi. An RV park was flooded by with rapid water rise in Perkiston, MS. Several RV’s were swept away, others stalled out trying to evacuate. 3 people rescued. Rainfall is still intense.

The Hunggate Fire, south of Canyon, Texas, has completely destroyed a railroad bridge, leaving only remnants of the rail structure. The fire was last reported at 14,000 acres. @MyRadarWX #txwx #hunggatefire

Tornado that struck Brookhaven, MS where it crossed over I-55 and hit homes.

This was rated EF2 despite the high tension lines, I actually agree with this given the damage surroubding the lines. There were 2 tornadoes, the second path was 22 miles long.

@sourskittlewx @McBeeWX Metal high tension is an EF3 DI that I’ve seen used for the Deer Park, Tx tornado a few years ago as well as a few others. I don’t necessarily agree.

Strong possibility this tornado long tracked. Could be a series of tornadoes but likely 20+ mile path.
