I’m not used to middle school students yet I made a joke about giving extra credit for one of those turkey-hand-tracing drawings. And then some of them actually went and did it Sarcasm doesn’t land here the way it did in HS. Do I have to give the extra credit now?

Does anyone live somewhere in America where they have a middle school that starts in 7th grade, not 6th grade? (It would be very convenient for me if my character could enter middle school in 7th grade.)
