steven knight trying to frame ada’s death as what drives the film to its final act when tommy was already on his way to birmingham dpmo. i can’t force myself to believe it’s anything but a lack of understanding of what to do with ada and a need to get her out of the way.

@xiw4n I will also say that I don’t like how it was handled in the story. It feels cruel after all the brilliant moments they shared 1:1 in the series. Obviously he was a loose cannon and was spiraling in 6, but still.

@xiw4n Personally wish they had waited so that he could be apart of the story. There was no real rush to make the movie & he seems to be doing much better now. Has a new series that’s streaming now. Idk how you incorporate him into this story, so maybe it was easier, but he’s missed.

I worked on a horror movie where — because we were green-lit — an exec who DIDN’T LIKE HORROR glommed onto our project and dictated almost every major creative choice. If an exec doesn’t like the material, work on something else.

@dztroyed You can watch it without having seen the series but a lot of the emotional weight and needle drop moments would be lost on you.

@netflix I’d forgotten til last rewatch how often Grace popped up that season haunting him. They did a really great job all things considered picking things up in 6. Just wish we had seen a resolution of the Billy Boys antagonists. At least a reference to them having been dealt with.
