The FBI has been back in Nancy Guthrie's neighborhood -- asking about neighbors who moved out before Nancy vanished and also interested in a home under construction and the names of all the crew members who have worked on the house.

@GrimmettCoral in 8th grade at Heritage Hall & threw down a 5:56 PR mile at Kingfisher meet.
At Luther meet, Coral got the win🥇 . She placed🥈at Cushing and 5th at Kingfisher.

For your recreational runners… heel strike is never taught or encouraged. Fundamentals can self correct.
Stay injury free and away from doctors and PT is my goal!

@be_bold_run @scottcarlinpt @shitehawke2 “Proper form”? “Prevent injury”? Are you paying attention here? There is no evidence that switching to forefoot/midfoot does either. Stop messing with people’s foot strikes based on fairy tales.

@Chandle74418127 @be_bold_run @scottcarlinpt @shitehawke2 Correct. "Proper form" is not binary. It is a range and depends on each person's individual anatomical variations and movement patterns.

@scottcarlinpt @shitehawke2 Her heel strike happens close to beneath her flexed knee. The landing position is relative to her center of mass so she runs without overstriding much and lands very LIGHT compared to a heavy jogger. A PT should not promote this. As a coach, we teach proper form to prevent injury

2. Not enough studies comparing each type of running shoe with another.
I do agree shoe needs to feel comfortable and not what a shoe store recommends.

@scottcarlinpt There is no one race pacing strategy. As a running coach I coach athletes to race depending on the particular race, their goals, fitness, course, weather… etc.

@scottcarlinpt You can go too easy on #5 and gait and form is affected. If form is suffering while too easy you are better off with a day off. My phylosophy is to go only as slow as you need to. I run my easy a little peppier. Works for me.

Welp that was embarrassing. Haven’t been this fit in a long time. Training was good- like really really good. Proud of how I prepared and that I wasn’t afraid to stick my nose in it, disappointed with how it played out. Such is life.
Gonna go have some beers now.
