Usual farce at @AeroportNice - nothing to do with Brexit. Everything to do with having two people checking passports, one who has now buggered off on his three hour lunch break. French efficiency at its finest on display at France’s 3rd largest airport. During the Cannes film festival no less. Quelle horreur

Surprise, surprise @wesstreeting is on @BBCr4today bashing landlords. I’ve got news for you mate, we can’t have a “productive nation” without people having homes, so if you want to tax Landlords to hell, I’d build some alternative accommodation first ‘cos you’re going to need it.

NRLA - National Residential Landlords Association
Our Chief Executive @BeadleBen recently attended the London Housing Conference alongside Sir James Cleverly and Lord Bailey of Paddington. Ben raised concerns around falling PRS supply, landlord confidence and the need for pro-growth policies instead of anti-landlord rhetoric. The NRLA will continue advocating on behalf of landlords as housing policy discussions develop. #NRLA #LandlordSupport #HousingPolicy

Almost HALF of landlords (46%) are planning to increase rents as a result of next year's tax increase on property income. Research conducted by Pegasus Insight also found that 35% of landlords plan to increase rents by more than previously planned. The data reflects what the NRLA have long been saying: increasing the cost of doing business will only drive up rents. More on this story here 👉 nrla.org.uk/renters-set-to…

NRLA - National Residential Landlords Association
The NRLA is calling on the next Welsh Government to rule out the introduction of any form of rent controls. Rent controls would reduce the supply of private rented accommodation at a time when Wales is facing an unprecedented supply crisis. These measures do not address the root causes of high rents, which include the spiralling costs investors face that are passed on to tenants. Whatever the outcome of coalition negotiations, we look forward to working with ministers to ensure Welsh landlords' concerns are taken into account. 👉 Read the full statement: nrla.org.uk/news-nrla-urge… #NRLA #Wales #RentControls #PRS

Hey @BeadleBen and @PaulShamplina and @MeganEighteen How many tenants were evicted this week because of the RRA being introduced today? Was there a spike? Has the government, in effect, pushed thousands of people out of their homes?

I’m my view we don’t need selective licensing or at the very least, its scope must be substantially reduced to specific postcodes with ASB (original intention). The reality is that local authorities have become addicted to and now can’t wean themselves off of it. A cottage industry of admin rather than standards enforcement.

All private landlords will soon be required to join the Private Rented Sector Landlord Ombudsman. This enables tenants to raise complaints about their landlord. Please explain why we need eye wateringly costly local authourity landlord licence schemes? @BeadleBen @mtpennycook

@BeadleBen NRLA have absolutely no influence over government policy, they will do what they want! Your members know it and you know it. You’re only interested in cosying up to local authorities so you can sell training courses and accreditations to LL members! Nobody is listening anymore
