Very important statement from the heads of the danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish Red Cross. Do not let your people (or socially kids) suffer from the horrific consequences of landmines!
Cordula Droege@CDroegeICRC

Secretaries-General of the Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish Red Cross Societies explain why withdrawing from the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention would not enhance security but endanger civilians with the indiscriminate effects of these weapons. blogs.icrc.org/law-and-policy…

International law isn’t perfect—but it still promotes restraint and stability. Abandoning it would hurt even the most powerful states. That’s why Norway must keep defending it. Read my latest 👇 @ProSyn prosyn.org/2eN6UoC

I encourage Iran to sign the Rome Statute and accept ICC jurisdiction. This would cover war crimes committed in Iran by the United States and Israel, war crimes committed by Iran's armed forces, and crimes against humanity committed by Iran's security forces against protesters.

The Netherlands joins DE, FRA, ITA and the UK in expressing deep concern over the Israeli death penalty bill ahead of its parliamentary vote. NL is principally against the death penalty and urges Israel’s government and Parliament to reconsider this bill. auswaertiges-amt.de/en/newsroom/ne…

And of course, the UN isn’t preparing to use nuclear weapons as some are interpreting this tweet. It might be, as in any war involving a nuclear armed state, that humanitarian agencies are reviewing their preparedness (or lack of) if anyone use them. It is their job.

It seems like a grift to take advantage of the suffering of Palestinians & Iranians, it is very unclear if this organization is delivering any aid or do anything concrete except tweeting and promoting their gofundme.

BBC confirms the US is responsible for the Minab school massacre that killed 175 people, mostly girls. The "advanced" AI targeting system used outdated coordinates to hit a base next door, ignoring satellite images showing kids playing in the courtyard. Absolute war crime.

It’s important to point out that Sweden was the first EU country to recognize Palestine in 2014, 11 years before Spain. I’m not a fan of current Swedish governments policies on Palestine but we should remember that @margotwallstrom did this way before any other EU country dared.

“They say that Spain is alone. They said the same when we recognized the State of Palestine, and then others followed. We are not alone. We are the first. Those defending the indefensible will be the ones left alone.” (Sánchez, March 9)
