It’s amazing to me that the Impella peel away vs the repo sheath makes such a difference in distal perfusion. I almost always take the peel away out now however at the risk of annoying access site bleeding. I use mattress. Jam the blue hub in. Suture the sheath to pull forward at the site. Any other tips to avoid overnight bleeding?

💧 #HDRanalysis 🧐 Case 016 - What is YOUR stain threshold? A 🧵 Today we treated an LAD CTO with an ambiguous cap and a failing LIMA graft. There were few retro options. Ambiguous caps are always tough to treat, but this was one of the top 3 toughest cases of this year! 😯

Asking your prayers today for our baby Elsie who remains hospitalized (now four months). She is experiencing a mysterious breathing problem, had a seizure today, and has a strange mass on her rib. So glad her Mom is there with her, but again, we would love your prayers.

Halloween case ?? 👻 Patient with hx of SAVR with metallic prosthesis 20y ago. Presented in ER with hx of acute onset of shortness of breath and cardiogenic shock (80x40) and EKG showing LBB (interpreted as new one). Referred for emergent cardiac catheterization. Today I’ve had one of my hardest days, Arthur being prodded and poked with needles all day and saying “daddy please no more please” absolutely broke my heart 💔 its hard enough him having cancer never mind all the things that come with it, it’s been a bad day today 😫😢
