How Ferra Reduces Slippage. Slippage is one of the biggest silent taxes in DeFi. Most traders don’t notice it but it slowly eats their profits. Ferra was designed to attack this problem directly. ⇨ Why Slippage Happens on Normal DEXs? On traditional AMMs: • Liquidity is spread across a wide price curve • Large trades push the price aggressively • The bigger your trade, the worse your execution Even with “deep liquidity,” traders still suffer hidden losses. ⇨ Ferra’s Different Approach Ferra doesn’t treat liquidity as one big pool. Instead, it: • Breaks liquidity into discrete price bins • Executes trades only where liquidity exists • Avoids dragging price across unused ranges This makes execution precise, not forced. ⇨ What Are Price Bins? Think of a market with clearly marked price shelves. Each shelf: • Has liquidity waiting at a specific price • Only activates when the market reaches that price • Doesn’t affect prices above or below it Trades move step-by-step, not in one violent jump. ⇨ What Happens During a Trade? When you swap on Ferra: 1. Your trade fills liquidity in the nearest price bin 2. If needed, it moves to the next bin 3. Each step is controlled and predictable 4. Result: lower slippage, cleaner execution This feels closer to order-book trading, but stays fully on-chain. ⇨ Why LPs Also Benefit Lower slippage isn’t just good for traders. For LPs: • Fees are earned where trades actually happen • Capital isn’t wasted outside active ranges • Liquidity behaves like a planned strategy Everyone wins not just one side. ⇨ Why This Matters for Sui DeFi As Sui grows: • Trades get larger • Users get more sophisticated • Bad execution becomes unacceptable Ferra gives Sui a liquidity layer that scales with demand, not against it. ⇨ Final Take @ferra_protocol doesn’t reduce slippage by luck. It reduces slippage by design. And that design is what separates next-gen DeFi from the past.
