@TeachButler some of mine have been learning using an online ide and following YouTube tutorials. Cannot recommend this site enough for gcse and kS3 if interested: #1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">clickschool.co.uk/schdio/#1 - hopefully that links you to the python book

I have a Year 7 student who would like to learn Python before we cover it in class. Are there any recommended sites they could visit to help them? Obviously, CodeAcademy and W3Schools were the old 'go-to' sites. #pythonprogramming

@MrLauLearning Quid pro quo? This was an attack required for the Cambridge nationals so would assume it’s this if not phishing

@AskMissMay Yes I see that we had rules, had to get a class average of 75% for it to be on next lesson, had to get x y and z done to play, I’d let the individuals who met the success criteria play but others not. Peer pressure helped but my class were competitive!

@beboldcomputing That’s the problem, all they want to do is play blooket all lesson, nothing else. MCQ have their place but I can not get the students to see that they also need to practice exam questions as well.

I’m having a hard time with Year 11 Computer Science students, so many don’t seem to care, don’t want to do worksheets or online notebooks or listen to me. They’ll do online quizzes but only if they can answer together. I just don’t know what to do.

@MsArthurCompSci @MrSteRobinson @HelloWorld_Edu @tough_miss For modifying I’d initially focus on the operators, it tends to be used in the exams and students aren’t as quick to pick up on it. It’s also a very good opportunity to teach or recall maintainable code theory and/ or trace tables if they’re year 11.

I'm a bit late to the party on this, but I'm restructuring my programming lessons based on the PRIMM approach next half term. Any top tips from teachers who successfully teach using PRIMM?

A link to this with answers is now on our page. Not the most efficient solutions but something that works. Students can adapt if struggling to create their own.

To spread positivity consider using virtual postcards - examples below ⬇️ fairly quick and low effort but can have a big impact !
