The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 reached near-record highs yesterday. More social proof that the status quo is volatile. Let that sink in! Meanwhile, many European NATO allies (e.g., Macron et al.), who have zero ability to project combat power, attempt to distance themselves from the US, which has protected them and defended them for many years. This reflects a fundamental lack of relevant strategy and a tendency toward political posturing. If you needed social proof that survival in business and life is reserved for those who thrive in volatile conditions, just look around.

The current culture is one in which we permissively allow and support terrible acts. AI only does what humans allow it to do. And right now, we are allowing LLMs like ChatGPT to assist in acts of mass violence. We are also allowing parents to sell their kids to the likes of R Kelly and Michael Jackson. And then we support the movies that attempt to rewrite history by not portraying such depraved actions.

The Michael Jackson movie is terrible and proof that we create our own reality and ultimately our own psychosis. Jackson was grooming young children and like R Kelly used the greed and lust of their parents to get close to them. Jackson was a serial pervert with unmitigated gall.

If we acted like members of congress in our workplace we would be FIRED. I cannot think of a less productive group or a group that lacks critical thinking. They serve as social proof for almost everything dysfunctional.

Stop reading all the business books about servant leadership and motivational self help (ten ways to stay happy etc…) and start taking action. Critical thinking has become an endangered skill but it is something we can do everyday to create the life we want to live. To better understand and shape our operational environment. Stop reading John Maxwell and worrying about whether or not others like you! We need fearless leaders!

AI dominating the job market is the least of our worries. Very soon we won’t be able to determine real from fake due to AI. Cognitive warfare (fake versus real) is the biggest challenge we will face in coming years. We are heading into a literal psychosis field by fake news that is viral within hours. Falsified always spreads faster than the truth because it is designed to trigger us. Social proof: within minutes of the shooting at the WHCD conspiracies theories were widely circulated.

Years ago there was a movie called What about Bob. “Baby steps Bob.” That a good lesson for all of us create quick wins!

The events last evening and the actions of the US Secret Service are excellent social proof. You always need to be prepared to respond to the worst-case scenario.

The biggest mistake we make is focusing on others. It’s much more beneficial to focus on what we can do to improve our situation.

AI is equivalent to the industrial revolution and look how uber successful we have been globally since then. The real threat is cognitive warfare; fake versus reality!

Mental healthcare struggles to find and keep competent clinicians. The mental healthcare field is going to explode as AI and social media make reality and fake indistinguishable.

States like California that target wealthy citizens (i.e., millionaires and billionaires) will soon become insolvent; no one wants to be targeted for taking risks and innovating while generating millions and billions for local economies. Mandami in New York seems to be exercising some common sense in this area despite his political bloviating during his campaign. What is ironic is that the likes of Ilhan Omar hide their wealth while actively targeting others' wealth.
