One thing about NBC's Indy 500 qualifying was they never cut to the onboard camera and stuck with the car for the whole run
Really increased the suspense and the sense of speed and it's details like this that make the difference imo

Hello! My husband and I ran our dirt micro this weekend. I didn’t post much because running a race with two people takes working all day and night.
I had an issue on my hot lap, so my first time on dirt (first in a micro, first on an oval, first at speed) was in a heat. Wild!

In New York, a man who parked his luxury SUV illegally at JFK Airport was enraged when his vehicle got towed.
Rather than pay the $500 fee, he jumped in to drive off, but the car was still on hooks.
As he reversed, the hooks ripped off the bodywork causing $5000+ in damage.

(An inverse of this happened in the early 1970s, when Marlboro was the title sponsor for USAC and VPJ showed up with Viceroy.)
