The City of Miami Beach has a First Amendment problem... I've been trying to ask accused serial sex pest mayor Steven Meiner questions for months and city staff like Daphne Saba ignore emails, delay public records requests and sneak him around city hall and out the back door to avoid the public and press. My roots in this city go back generations and it's a tragedy how Meiner and his Tonton Macoute have destroyed our beautiful island town. There are a lot of decent hard-working people working at the city, but they're being held hostage by corrupt and incompetent leadership. Meiner, city mismanager Eric Carpenter, city attorney/mob lawyer Ricardo Dopico, police chief Wayne Jones, and city commissioners have sent a clear message that ethics can be ignored, laws broken and the Constitution violated — without consequence…

ROBBERY: Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins promised a “deep dive” to find waste and misuse in the city budget — which has DOUBLED in the last 5 years with 77% going to salaries and benefits. Instead, Higgins wants a HALF-A-BILLION DOLLAR credit card while we’re already drowning in debt from Marlins Park and other high interest bonds. Salaries for Miami city employees are up 54% and benefits up 62% in the last three years and the number of city hall insiders making over $200,000 has DOUBLED in two years. While regular Miami residents — with a median household income of $66,000 — have only seen a 2-3% increase in wages per year. And now Higgins, city manager James Reyes (salary: $475,000 and lives in Broward), Commissioner Damian Pardo and city attorney George Wysong (salary: $417,000 and doesn’t live in the city) are covering up public records that document how much taxpayer money they actually pay out to city workers. #BecauseMiami

Miami Police shoot, wound man across from Ultra Music Festival… The incident occurred Saturday morning around 7AM outside the YVE Hotel on Biscayne Blvd. & NE 2nd St. after officers responded to a report of a man in his 20s acting erratically. Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation, used a Taser and pepper spray, which were apparently not effective — and an officer fired at the man. Miami Police Chief Manny Morales said he "appeared to have non-life-threatening injuries," and was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment along with one officer injured during the incident.
