I have been seeing some misinformation circulating about the proposed Ithaca City budget, so I want to clarify something. The tax levy for 2024 was $30,690,864. The proposed levy, as amended, is approximately $33,410,000 (pending controller calculations). This is 8.8%, not 25.4%.

@beccabaileyev @RGC_NYS @NYMayors Why is it pointless? We saw in the landslide rejection of first school budget that people are getting fed up with high taxes.
Also, public debate is a good thing . I recall from exchanges about the IGND that you,Rebecca, don't like dissent. I respectfully disagree.
