@Brian_W_Hall In my experience I find them a burden if I am looking at multiple offers and as an HM I found they delivered little to no actionable information. I’m curious what sort of information are you looking to get from references that is not accessible via other avenues?

When recruiting for highly sought after talent, are reference checks a thing of the past? I'm told by some that simply asking for references is off-putting to candidates with options. Not doing them at all seems crazy to me and a low barrier if you want the job. Opinions?
