Bro- the entire post was just a rant. With everything in the world this is low hanging fruit but I don’t like it no matter what. The amount of people wringing their hands and attacking me over the clock is hilarious when most don’t even know my concern. It doesn’t matter it’s just shocking to me that THIS is what people would choose to get upset about. The 45th parallel runs through Minneapolis. We get up to the 49th. It’s very dark. But you know nothing about it.

@becka_thompson The Arctic Circle is 66 degrees 33’ north latitude. The northern border of CONUS (excluding Alaska) is 45-49 degrees north latitude. So the lower 48 staters really don’t live “near the Arctic Circle…”

I hate this. This is the worst. For Minnesota it means we spend half of our “day” in darkness in December.

@JDobrunz38008 I don’t disagree but as a teacher this is so horrible for kids. Being this far off the circadian rhythm is profoundly detrimental. I know, let’s do this and then cut our mandated class hours. If we do that I’m in.

Close to the summer solstice, permanent Daylight Saving Time seems great. But if this bill goes into law, come wintertime it will be obvious that it’s a terrible idea. If you want to avoid twice-yearly time changes, permanent Standard Time is the only sensible choice.

When metro transit workers inevitably quit or go on strike then what will all the DSA do? Force them to work a dangerous job? 😳

9:00 AM Sunrise is more insane than most people realize. That's 1.5 class periods into school before the sun even rises. 2 hours into most blue collar workdays. That extra hour of daylight (in cold winter when everyone is inside anyway) from 5-6p isn't worth it at all.
