One way to understand “being unprofessional” is noting behaviour that upsets white, middle-class, abled sensibilities.

@masaruy810 Considering it can take ~2 years for a manuscript to see the light of day, I wonder what are we are really talking about when we say 'recent'... 😂 I was always told 10 years, which I appreciate. It challenges the neoliberal privileging of faster-cleverer-more in AcPublishing.

When you say “recent studies,” how much do you date back?

@AshleyRMoore3 I wonder if at the PhD-application stage, might this be more of a statement of how you envision integrating EDI etc. into your grad work (+ your "track record" if you have it!). Just mindful that many may have been discouraged from doing "critical" work, esp. int'l stds..

Further to that, how do we capture playfulness in the constraints of an academic journal yet still keep the “integrity” of playfulness? @beckerzayas, a speaking point perhaps? Haha..

Today marks start of my comps. I’m tremendously grateful for having such a wonderful committee on my dissertation journey: @PatsyDuff, Dr. Zappa-Holman, & @scottroydouglas, I cannot thank them enough for sending me off to the comps journey with 100% confidence I can do it.

A wonderful reminder that linguistic intelligibility is achieved relationally! Experiences of “language barriers” are often rooted in a lack of meaningful relation rather than linguistic discontinuity.

You can make a difference in the world without working on the weekends.
