@ScoutRocco I’ll never understand it in a million years. The people who wanted Lev fell in love with the idea of him. They wanted him to be the player they wanted him to be. And not the player he actually was. It really separated puck knowers from puck posers .

@Bedards_Burner I never understood what was "risky" about Demidov. Was clearly the 2nd best player in that draft class to me. Yes, I realize Sennecke is right there, no shade on him, big fan of the player. But Demidov was just so obvious. I never understood not picking him.

Wild To think that Lev duped the Hawks into drafting him because he was “hilarious” during his interviews. Think about that…they ignored his countless flaws as a player because they were blown away by his humor. Meanwhile the “risky” pick Demidov is crushing it in the playoffs.

Thinking about Levshunov. Thinking about the fact that this was practically his first NHL season. Thinking about the fact that the Hawks drafted him for his tools, something in which, if we bought into, we know would take time. Thinking about the fact this kids career has barely begun. Thinking about the fact that defence prospects take a little longer. I guess, in the end, this tells me... I'm not ready to give up on Arty.

It's not good so far, but I agree with JFresh's conclusion here. Also, simple fixes (shorter shifts, more decisive shooting, quicker and better decisions) will go a long way with Levshunov. Natural tools will carry him once he reaches a baseline with those things. #Blackhawks

Levshunov has had some real struggles in the NHL, especially defensively with particular issues executing plays with the puck in his own zone. That said, these are his age 18 and 19 seasons and he's shown flashes of promising puck-moving as well. Too early to give up.
