@CRawkeen Spyro did that Labzy song, that year. Meanwhile, Tedderites are still looking for the 4 people that voted T-Cool in Tedder Hall and gave him victory over one of their own. UI SU Election used to be a big deal.

When UI reinstated student union that year, I was a fresh student. The election was the most interesting election in UI. “Think positive, Think T-Cool” “Vote for Labzy, na him head dey there” T-Cool representing Zik hall and Labzy from Tedder hall I remember my roommate then, a Vet medicine stalite said “If no be arifin, how can a Tedderite be dragging position with a Zikite” 😂 Good times

@Real1_balogun I remember Obafemi Martins joined them that summer after Newcastle got relegated. He couldn't really make an impact... Came to Birmingham to win Carling Cup in 2011 and became a journeyman afterwards.

In the 2008/09 season, during one of Bayern Munich’s few off seasons, VFL Wolfsburg were in their season and a moment in history. Edin Dzeko and Brazilian striker Grafite were in the moment of their lives. They scored for fun. At the beginning of the 2007/08 season, then Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath signed Wolfsburg and Grafite from Czech club FK Teplice and French side, Le Mans respectively. It’s probably the best piece of business Wolfsburg have done in the 21st century (Kevin de Bruyne’s signing also deserves a shout). Both players were signed for a combined fee of €10m. Magath was in a unique position at the time as he wasn’t just manager but also was the club’s CEO and Director of Football. He called the shots. During their first season at the club, Dzeko and Grafite scored 19 goals. What followed is a golden moment in history and a partnership that flattered to deceive before firing to destroy. In their second season at the club during the 2008/09 season, both strikers only scored six goals in their first nine games. They struggled up till winter with Grafite carrying the goalscoring burden at this time. Dzeko hadn’t found his rhythm. The Brazilian, Grafite had scored 11 goals before the winter break. I remember that season as the first year I saw Demba Ba. He had formed a deadly strike partnership with Vedad Ibisevic, and Chinedu Obasi who came in and out of the team due to injuries. TSG Hoffenheim ended as winter league leaders with Ralf Rangnick in charge. They lost Ibisevic to a long-term injury during a friendly game and that put paid to their dreams. Wolfsburg were 9th on the log at this time while Bayern were second. And then the engines started reverberating at the Volkswagen Arena. Wolfsburg won 10 straight games. Dzeko had found his wave and Grafite’s fire was still burning hot. By the start of April 2009, they had scored 31 goals. A win at home against Bayern Munich gave them a place at the summit, and they never came down. Dzeko didn’t stop scoring. They won 14 of their final 17 league games, scored 45 goals in the process with Dzeko and Grafite scoring 37 of them. They drubbed Werder Bremen in the final game of the season to help Wolfsburg to their only Bundesliga title to date. Grafite emerged top scorer with 28 goals, while Dzeko scored 26. The Bosnian scored 21 goals between Christmas and May. Their 54 goals became the best return of any strike partnership in the history of German football. Gerd Muller and Uli Hoeness previously held that record with 53 goals in a season. What happened to Grafite and Dzeko? Grafite slid down and off the radar. He played in the Middle East and Brazil after Wolfsburg, while Dzeko won a Bundesliga Golden Boot the following season before moving to Man City in 2011. Dzeko still plays football in the 2. Bundesliga at 39. Grafite retired from football almost eight years ago. NB: This happened shortly before aliens took over football. Only Lionel Messi scored 50 goals for Barcelona in the 2011-12 season.

In Yoruba culture, AROKO is a non-verbal semiotic system of communication. For Example, Sending a broom to someone means - you no longer want to see them in your house. PÁKÒ (chewing stick) When you receive a chewing stick from an opposite sex, hmmm... It means "I LOVE YOU" ỌSÀN (Orange) When you receive an orange from someone, maybe sent through somebody else, it means I am pleased with you. It could also mean I love you. ÌYARUN/ÒÒYÀ (comb) A comb is used ordinarily for combing hair, I.e for separation of tangled hair. This phenomenon is transferred in coded Yoruba Àrokò. Sending a comb to someone far away means separation or ending Of friendship or love affair. ẸNÍ (mat) The sending of a piece of mat raffia especially of ore type is an indication that someone is sick in the household of the receiver and such a person is very lean. Ọ̀JÁ/GBÀJÁ Receiving some part of cloth used to tie Baby means the pregnant woman you left home has successfully put to bed. IGBÁ ÒFÌFO (An empty Calabash) When a king receives an empty Calabash, parrot egg or skull. It means the people are no longer pleased with him, he should commit suicide. OWÓ ẸYỌ (cowrie shells) Owó ẹyọ is an object widely used to indicate many things in different àrokò, depending on the packaging and their number. A cowrie shell with a string attached to it is a sign of bad thing or that unfavorable thing happened. Two cowries shells tied together facing each other sent to a party or another group means we are in agreement with you or your view, there is harmony. But when the two shells are tied backing each other, it means disagreement, it means discord. symbolizes rejection and unfavorable message. Traditionally, the Yoruba abhor the giving of things in three (3). Three in Yoruba numerology is confusing. Six cowries tied together in 3 pairs, it is an expression of emotion. Ẹ̀fà (6) is symbolic in Yoruba numerology, it Means attraction. Ẹ̀fà ló ní kíẹ fà mí mọ́ra (It is six that says draw me closer). So this Àrokò means the sender is longing to see the receiver. Or simply put, it means I MISS YOU. ÌRÙKẸ̀RẸ̀ (flywhisk/horsetail) Sending of Irukere - flywhisk and cowrie shells from one monarch to Another is a request for agreement or solidarity or farewell. ÌBỌN/Ẹ̀TÙ (Gun or gunpowder) Gun or gunpowder is a communication means between states or towns to express a conflict or war. It tells the receiving town or village to prepare for an imminent war with the sender. IYỌ̀ (salt) Salt or honey is sent in opposite meaning to gunpowder. It means peace, harmony and solidarity between the two towns or parties. Sending both sword and salt to another party in an unresolved issue means the receiver should choose between war and peace.
