If you've not already joined me on the other side, please pop a little like on something in my new feed, so I can spot and follow you. I won't continue here unless big things change. 🦋 bsky.app/profile/beeble…

@the_pennine_way @berenyi_miki Kitchens of Distinction are very much tied to a San Francisco early nineties for me. Deejays seemed to relish saying their name as I shuttled myself to and from uni classes.

My few days sojourn in the North has been full of comfort and joy in the company (and hospitality) of Patrick Fitzgerald (Kitchens of Distinction) and Karl. Plenty of sourdough and some proper catch-up goss.

@berenyi_miki The most distinctive kitchen in Doctor Who is in the programme for exactly 1 second. The budget wouldn't run to an extra set – as poor Mrs Farrell hears her imperilled husband in the next room – so Colour Separation Overlay was employed... then celebrated: x.com/LRoundels/stat…

@StuartDenman Just the thing – I was hunting 'Remembering Forgetting The Savages' as the 'Who & Company' podcast reminded me to check it out. Wow: Six Sides of a Square, Dr Tom Attah, lovely Jeremy Bear, Toby Hadoke and so much more, with so very little to start from. Really well done, sir.

@ChrisChapman81 On my first watch of the episodes this winter I thought, what's someone of my advanced years to make of this, beyond amazement at its ambition? Thanks for providing the answer with your film. Dabbing the eyes at the end – the magic got in ❤️

Merry Christmas to all - but particularly to those who discover The Box of Delights beneath their tree. Here's what happened when I hand it under my hand...

@claytonhickman @richardmarson2 Just finished peering into The Box of Delights. I did a lot of theorising how that would have hit me, if it had hit me back then. Very much looking forward to seeing what the second disc has to day, with forty years having rolled on. Yuletide greetings to you and yours, thanks.

@richardmarson2 Just reflecting on how important all those kids TV adaptations were to young me. Box of Delights, Children of Green Knowe, Moondial, Witches and the Grinnygog, Aliens in the Family - I went out and bought the book for each of them 👍

Been rewatching spooky 1988 CBBC drama The Watch House on YouTube. Just as great/creepy as I remembered. Maybe the last of those ghosty serials the BBC used to idly churn out like it was the easiest thing on earth. The main girl, Diana Morrison, is SO good youtu.be/koiU2-OhmPo

@LaRedouteUK Mail seems to have settled down now, and I'm now enjoying the furniture in the colour I *did* buy. Thank you for your response. Your programmers just need to stop promoting abandoned cart items that match things in a variant style which *did* make it from cart to sale.

@claytonhickman The mutilation and torture of stretched glyphs on 'PUBLIC CALL' somehow survived the return to wide side margins 🙁 I quite like the post notches aesthetically, but maybe it's functional, allowing the top to be a single, convenient cap piece they plop down onto the four walls.

I didn’t have space to mention the still-baffling notches on the corner posts. Bizarre. But if that’s the trade-off for the return of the nice stepped ridges above the doors, and lovely recessed POLICE BOX signs then I can live with em. Whatever they’re for... 🤪

@georgethefourth Loving that you're throwing your lensman skills at the dollies. I avoided bringing such plastic into my home for a while but eventually gave in 🙂
