Comparing the higher end of a job offer (10k, not the minimum 5k) gross salary vs the net salary for the SMIC isn't a fair comparison (doesn't mean the SMIC isn't too low to live a decent life and shouldn't be higher). Gross smic is 2135$.

This is absolutely fascinating. That's the salary level for entry-level workers in Xinjiang right now. We just saw this hiring ad 👇 in front of an ice cream shop in Yining: - 5k to 10k monthly salary ($750 to $1,500) - Free accommodation - Free food Not a bad package, even better than France! The so-called "SMIC" (base salary) in France is roughly $1,500 a month but you obviously don't get free accommodation or food with that, and it's the bunch of people's monthly expenses. And, of course, everything is much cheaper in China than in France. So we're literally at a stage where an entry-level ice cream shop worker in Xinjiang has better purchasing power than a minimum wage worker in France.

@Tom428813823877 @RnaudBertrand I'm not saying the opposite. But comparing the high range of a job offer (10000, not the 5000 Yuans) vs the minimum wage in France, and taking the gross salary on the Chinese offer vs the net salary for the SMIC is not a honest comparison. That's all I'm saying.

@RnaudBertrand Je pense que tu as mal compris ma réponse : La fourchette de l'offre que tu s posté, c'est 5000-10000 yuans. Tu compares le haut de CETTE fourchette (1477 dollars) avec 'e SMIC français, pas les 5000 Yuans. Et c'est du brut, même si moins taxé qu'en FR. Bref pas très honnête.
