@Fabian_ikono Hopefully you’re using it as intended and you’ve got a decent schema to work with.

@IvanChepurnyi @brentwpeterson Where as an IOT device sending sensor data REST could be faster. Then again something on top of UDP would be “faster” in this hypothetical example…

@IvanChepurnyi @brentwpeterson In the context of a mobile application, one request to retrieve just the data (e.g user, friends, posts, ads) needed to render the UI can be more performant than managing multiple network requests.

@IvanChepurnyi @brentwpeterson GraphQL isn’t prescriptive on backend implementation. Similar to how a REST-like endpoint for an e-commerce cart model doesn’t automatically avoid an n+1 problem by loading product details of a CartItem. One GraphQL query may translate to *many* REST calls and avoids overfetching

@beeplogic @brentwpeterson I like GraphQL for self-describing schema when GraphQL is properly implemented. But performance stays a fact, GraphQL of the same query is slower than REST. Most GraphQL endpoints need to batch correctly to make multi-query arguments hold any ground, which is incredibly very rare

@IvanChepurnyi @brentwpeterson Single query performance isn’t a good metric to consider since it’s not where GraphQL fits in. Schema aside, the tooling and developer experience with GraphQL is much better than REST-like services IMO. OpenAPI is ok but still not as nice/flexible as GraphQL.

@brentwpeterson GraphQL is not faster and performance depends on backend that implements it. I would even say that single query in REST usually faster as it is not need to parse custom language. It can be better for developer experience if implementation of schema is intuitive, but most are not

I've been requesting my Twitter account archive for days now with no luck. A backup is supposed to be provided within 24 hours, but I've been hearing nothing but crickets. Anyone else having this issues?

@jillrep it was wild when we got there shortly after 5, went to have dinner and it wasn’t any better so we bailed. Heard it was still about 3 hours at 11pm

The line to get into ⁦@OCMA⁩ last night was crazy. One guy told me he waited 2 hrs, I think it might’ve been longer than that when we tried and gave up.

@inminivanhell @City_of_Irvine @LAGalaxy @orangecountysc Maybe they can reuse Todd Spitzer’s “No LA in OC” campaign signs/slogan. Can we count on Tammy Kim to fear monger and warn Irvine residents about “sketchy” LA fútbol fans coming to their pristine suburb?

@inminivanhell Kinda shitty of the council member to drag down and perpetuate, in particular, Santa Ana as “sketchy” 👎

It’s in the middle of a business park, hidden by the airport, with discreet signage, and curtains! @City_of_Irvine , removing a sex positive small business that is already as discreet as possible is absolutely ridiculous and shameful by a city claiming to be progressive.

@inminivanhell Not like the place is on a corner next to a McDonalds- it's in the middle of an commercial park. Under the John Wayne flight path. No one is being offended by it unless they're trying to. For all their talk about small business and less regulation they're mostly full of shit.

Are vibrators not welcomed in Irvine? The Irvine, California woman owned and operated sex positive store, Pink Kitty, is being forced to closed at the end of the month and employees are claiming it’s “due to the nature of the business”: reddit.com/r/orangecounty…

Y’all can’t hold large photo op protests demanding the protection of women, while simultaneously restricting our access to safely make sex positive purchases. This is some NIMBY type shit, & btw the “just move it to Santa Ana” is the same response to every issue in our county.
