smth that i find tragic abt these trends is that young women seem to have this(normal/human id say*) desire to be taken care of by someone that they think a man will fulfill, but in reality they are the ones who end up taking care of said men to the point of self sacrifice

And it’s honestly a cry for help. These young girls wish they were parented. They wish they had parents who cared enough to understand their needs and to love them in the way that they feel loved. It’s painfully depressing to realize.

Not to mention they are also very culturally significant to Mexico and represent the souls of departed loved ones during the Day of the Dead festival. Their migration starts the holiday when they return to Día de Muertos. They are environmentally and culturally extremely significant for North America. With the wave of data centers being built that are going to destroy so much nature and cause so much pollution, I couldn’t think of a better time to protect these species.
