【Info】 A general summary of my OC series! “Cross of Corinthia” is an original fantasy adventure story set in the fictional world of Therios. I started developing it 5~ years ago with hopes of releasing it as a webcomic someday. This thread ft. a basic synopsis + worldbuilding

the dichotomy of dragonfly folklore around the world is interesting... in western european cultures they're seen as sinister and a "devil's insect", whereas in eastern asian cultures they're celebrated as good omens! (so i designed her clothing to be a blend of both)

nimue design patch ver 1.1...! i was wanting to add more to her head since it looked kinda bald imo but dragonflies don't have antennas.... so i incorporated the pincers! (bonus how it resembles a horned crown too)

nimue is a water fairy in arthuriana so i thought the bug wings would be fitting 🕴️also larvae dragonflies/damselflies are called nymphs bc they spend most of their lives in water… it’s really nice when everything aligns and i can go “yeah that makes sense” 🧠

design yapping… so despite aquarius meaning “water bearer”, it’s actually an air sign so i was racking my brain on what creature i could do for nimue that was 1. related to freshwater 2. can fly (but not a swan bc that’s sigune’s motif) and realized a dragonfly would be perfect

The human village surrounding Nimue's lake are also hostile to magi due to a bad history with them... The villagers are all aware of what she's doing, and they help in luring outside magi to feed her in exchange for her continued protection.

i only have 9 oc photocards left to draw until i complete the main set…maybe after that i’ll draw seasonal ones for fun 🤔 i always thought it’d be cool to have limited cards at a con depending on what time of year the show takes place in (ex. beach ver. for cons in june-august)

i've been marinating on a name for percy and his tomodachis for a long time but i settled on “stargazy” like that gross looking fish pie LMFAO (everyone at the archives thinks they're losers, so it's a disparaging nickname in-universe but i think it’s cute…)
