Or a combination of variables I failed to address. They were tired and frustrated - I got that. Really struggle myself to not put a "but..." there as in, "...but we have to try something!" or "...but this has the potential to alleviate, trust me!". They did not trust me.

Anybody doing research in this area? In all the times I recommended Universal Protocols, I had a group that seemed to struggle to make the shift and instead they hunkered down on their "bmod" ways. They really disliked Universal Protocols but I think it was something else.

I'm curious abt the role of counter-control in organizations when confronted with an idea to #makeshifthappen. I think I experienced some of this when trying to embody Universal Protocols as a recommendation. I have a chance for a re-do in the Fall and hoping to make more stick.

In a fight for what got my attention and energy, I simplified my practice. I prioritized values over procedures. Co-operation over compliance. Compassion over complaining. I focused on learning from a place of joy and not just adversity.

The intersection b/w my own therapy where I've been unpacking my own story and how I practice professionally resulted in a lot of a-ha moments. I started to think more abt my values and the lived experiences of others. Where I had a fixed belief, I tried to be more dynamic.

Hello Twittersphere 👋 I've missed you and the #behavioranalysis discussions we have here. It's been a tough couple of years being in public education, staying afloat during staff shortages, trying to keep hope for behaviour change alive.

@_LisaCherry This is something I am very interested in knowing more about or changing my practice. I don't do research but data is gathered regularly to assess and later evaluate interventions.

Currently breaking down how I embedded trauma informed principles into my 'data colleciton' and it's comforting to see that the research process done well, kind of covers much of it. Has anyone else broken this down in their research? #Research #AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter

@KFlemming It's a significant faith day across two religious groups so many staff have the day off (approved requests submitted at the beginning of the school year). In a normal year we'd have enough supply staff to cover.

So the @YRDSB has a real way with words. What’s with April 22nd? Are they anticipating a remote learning situ? A strike? Latest comms “In addition to COVID-19 pressures, we are anticipating a significant number of absences for April 22, 2022.”…. Um. WHUT?

I know this is a symptom of mostly working alone since we're down staff and itinerant staff are being pulled to cover staff absences in classrooms. Interdisciplinary work is not a luxury. It is essential. We are better together. And alone I panic.

Last night I awoke with imposter syndrome panic. "I'm in over my head. My behaviour plans suck. I'm making terrible recommendations. Who do I think I am?" 🙀 10 years in #onted; almost 10 years before that doing community-based behaviour consultation.
