'Project Hail Mary' succeeds at being a crowdpleasing space journey, even if it's at the expense of thoughtful storytelling. The book's aptitude for unfolding mystery is absent and the story's essense is subverted by rushed pacing. But it's visuals are great, seek it out in IMAX.
