Being Human is Hard

My wish for our world is that, when confronted with something we do not understand, we ask questions... instead of passing immediate judgement and jumping to outrageous conclusions. Seek first to understand, then to be understood.

@mitokondriak Don't have favorite musicians, per se, but composers. Start with the classics, Beethoven's 5th/9th, Bach, Mozart, etc... you'll find so many songs you already knew. DeBussy's Claire de Lune comes to mind. Off the path a bit, I'm a big fan of the Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.

Gonna listen only to classical music for the next month as an experiment. Who are your favourite classical musicians? (I'm a n00b)

@jeffcharlesjr I cannot say whether or not it's "true", that racism was "fixed". But I can say things are very, very different today. And by different I mean worse. Racial tensions appear far greater today than they were in the late 80s and 90s. Even with Rodney King and the LA riots.

@SheenaMasonPhD Being human is hard. We like to think that we're rational, but we're not... at least, not as much as we think we are. One of the difficulties in being human is that we are always comparing ourselves to others. Especially those who seem different. Race & racism play a huge part.

@majtoure Nothing should be banned. We need to talk, and most importantly, we need to listen. Just my opinion.

Javier Milei has banned “woke words” in Argentina. I understand the sentiment, but this IS NOT the way. Good first couple months on his part, first bad move in my view. Thoughts Solutionarys?

@ZubyMusic The way I view this is that, for all of the wonders of being human, we're still animals. And the desire, or NEED to be right, is our primitive survival mind still hard at work. Contrarian views are a threat. But that's just my POV. It's not the truth.

The most intellectually lazy way to deal with opinions that counter your own is to assume 'hatred'.

@wendyp4545 In my opinion... It's hard enough to be human... to walk through life on constant alert must be excruciating. We have created an anti-social world where distrust of our fellows is rampant. We're alone and afraid... this is adding to our mental health epidemic.

Tomorrow is March 1st. For the entire month of March be extra aware of your surroundings. Pay attention to backpacks and duffle bags. If something looks out of place, it is out of place and act accordingly by removing yourself out of the area immediately. Carry everywhere that your state allows legal carry. Don't travel or walk alone. Keep your gas tanks topped off for the entire month if you can afford it. March is a very full month. A month full of chatter and we better head the warning signs to stay safe.
