Jihadist groups resembling “Waffen SS”-style formations are mobilizing against Christian communities in western Syria. At this stage, there appears to be no effective way to halt this rapid Blitz offensive through ground forces alone. It may require airstrikes by any capable power to deter militias that seem intent on ethnic cleansing of minorities.
