@alannadeau2016 @KennDawgHard I don't know if it's lingering American exceptionalism where people think that admitting to having a disease makes them less than or what, but if I hadn't been so scared to even talk about it, I probably would have got help a lot sooner

I’d highly suggest looking into “models of addiction.” It’s a fascinating concept that may help give you a better understanding of the disease like it did for me. I used to blame my sister for her own death instead of her alcoholism so take it from me. 😅 (2/2)
