Cookies (Yuqi Chinese solo stans) are angry with i-dle’s “Gimme Dat Love,” expressing disgust over the MV concept. To protect Yuqi’s image in China, big solo fan accounts have rallied fans to mass report the MV across Weibo, Bilibili, & Douyin. Reasons for this negative reaction range from disapproval of LGBT themes and opposition to sexual content, to concerns over underage fans and worries about Yuqi’s career prospects in China once she leaves i-dle to become a full-time solo artist. It seems the goal is to get all “vulgar” content taken down, ensure the comeback gets as little traffic as possible, and potentially get all of i-dle’s Chinese platform accounts banned so Yuqi’s image isn’t affected.
