@GamerAlexVideos And the combat generally brings out the worst in its physics, despite it behaving decent for the most part.
Other than that, i don't have much to criticize about Screamer other than the execution of the story. It's a decent package. Too much asking price, however
English

@GamerAlexVideos My general criticism for Screamer's controls is it's execution, not the idea itself. It generally feels less precise and less satisfying than say Inertial drift. Also, tapping the right stick does the job of the left, so that's disappointing tbh that it becomes a bit pointless
English

@TreborS1990 @_Lord53 @projectmracing see, that's the one thing you're right in. rfactor 2 did that and it barely ever lived to see the day.
AC Evo also seems to be doing that but it's "open world" and "customisation" hype instead
English

@ben_0770 @_Lord53 @projectmracing Not only that they go oh it’s okay we will apply this new “tyre model” to every car, re so some menus and then release it as 2.0 thinking people will fall for it
English

A new foundation.
Update 2.0 is the most significant overhaul to #ProjectMotorRacing since launch and introduces a redesigned UI, far improved driving feel, enhanced online systems, and a stronger Career Mode.

@TreborS1990 @_Lord53 @projectmracing >Every other sim is playable thanks to the way they implement
Can't help a person who is used to dogshit controller support understand why.The only sims to have well thought controller support were the Grand Prix games because Geoff actually knew how to implement steering filters
English

@ben_0770 @_Lord53 @projectmracing 😂😂 talking out of your arse. Every other sim is playable thanks to the way they implement things PMR belongs in the bin. Not only bad controller support but a game that mostly focuses on GT and endurance racing and they can’t even figure out how to implement rolling starts
English

@TreborS1990 @_Lord53 @projectmracing ok.... what you said is something every sim has including pmr. Most of them do a very shitty implementation of it, even the "best" ones out there
Speed sensitivity is implemented so bad in most sims that it inhibits the countersteer aids
English

@_Lord53 @projectmracing They don’t care about people that play on controller. Same happened with project cars. Every other sim out there has really decent scripts to aid with countersteering or even speed sensitivity but this has nothing. Performance has dropped massively with the 2.0 update too
English

@BandicootSVK @LittleBigSpikey Kinda wrong to compare Wreckfest to Burnout when Wreckfest is a spiritual successor to Flatout series instead.
English

@LittleBigSpikey Burnout was the original Wreckfest, but with shittons of speed.
Burnout asked the question "What if we had the speed of F1 combined with a demolition derby?"
English

4 years without a new Need for Speed game
14 years without a new MotorStorm game
15 years without a new Burnout game
18 years without a new Midnight Club game

@beeeemooooo Not really. The tire model is vastly improved over shift's. They actually feels like tires; you can lean and predict. However the collisions, yeah.. you're right. It's generally subpar when with trackside and at times car contact. My main gripe with pcars is ffb. It's lackluster.
English

It's so funny when you realize that they went on to make project cars and got rid of literally everything people loved about shift 2 (the atmosphere, menus, customization and music) and kept the only thing that people hated about shift 2 (the physics)
sealyx 💿@trulysealy
bring dynamic main menus back 🙏
English

@beeeemooooo Project cars still has mach fuck inconsistencies tho, as a reminder. But even then, it's not like a simulator not being broken is uncommon.
It's literally just Race07 with a new graphics engine and new bugs, that's all
English

@beeeemooooo Lmao, no.project cars 1 despite being inconsistent with its car list, actually handles normally and like a car instead of tuning eternally to make it remotely feel like it's a car in shift. Honestly, can't comprehend how they made that atrocity with the rfactor's physics engine
English

@mask_bastard Or better yet, bring back split screen.
I want to play with my siblings too, you know.
English

@Solid_Kris @Dreamboum Also,
- Audio design
- Acceleration/G force sensitivity
They don't get mentioned enough but they play a very big role in sense of speed too
English

@Dreamboum The big 3 when it comes to sense of speed in racing games:
- Larger FOV
- Camera Shake
- Motion blur but just on the edges on the screen
English

Motion blur is a big reason as to why Burnout 3 is so legendary in delivering a sense of speed with an incredible presentation. Like everything, if it's well implemented it makes a big impact
TheJoshMan ✝️@TheJoshMan07
Who genuinely likes motion blur
English

@Dreamboum Not just motion blur, audio design plays a huge role too in Burnout 3's sense of speed

@bell_sms @c172fccc @A_taylor1995 @projectmracing Was the cancelled game perhaps "Falcon"? Or, did that turn into NFS Shift?
English

@c172fccc @A_taylor1995 @projectmracing Probably why I occasionally get accused of not finishing games. Beyond 'ideas', I've started 17 and finished 16 (one got cancelled on us).
English

@Tecnoguy1 @__silent_ Sorry for the late reply, but renderware was always intended as a general purpose engine, even though its own devs might have used it primarily for racing games. It isn't like frostbite which wasn't designed as a general purpose engine first.
English

@ben_0770 @__silent_ There hasn’t been a widely adopted racing game engine since renderware.
English

Is it normal to be excited about a new game specifically because it uses a custom engine and DirectX 9?
Marcell Baranyai@bmarci7
The so much requested turbo is here. First iteration though. AI driving, even with no traction assist they can still handle most oversteering. The dashboard starts to look like an airplane... Originally I wanted to get away without turbo, but eventually I got excited about it.
English

@xCarProfile @DraytonKnowles people are crapping on this because it's circuit superstars but worse. that's it really.
there is no mention of sim nerds in the reviews, all are completely valid complaints. we've just gotten so used to mediocrity lately that a worse version of a old game now is satisfactory
English

@DraytonKnowles Are people really crapping on this game that much? Its pretty detached from the main iracing platform so idk why people think they should hate on this game for any reason… im just holding off on buying it until they release more content
English

@DraytonKnowles ngl, this game just feels a worse circuit superstars with a camera mod
English

A new update for #ProjectMotorRacing is now available on all platforms.
Update 1.7.0.0 introduces the Ford Falcon V8, alongside significant improvements to GT4 class and the introduction of License Points in Ranked Online.

@14655116677A @ActingRiot05 @COSTUM_04 the closest you're gonna get to a Gran Turismo equivalent on a PC are either the Toca Racedriver series or the Project Cars series.
heads up, you will want a wheel for the pCars series
English

@YakutaHoshi @itzjustdubzz @ShitpostRock yes. it's one of the most horrendous pc ports for that time. it ran horribly on that era's gpus at launch
guess what, with time ,people forget. that's what always happens. people forgot how disastrous the pc port of nfs mw 05 was at launch
English

@itzjustdubzz @ShitpostRock Is this the same batman that was infamous for running at 10 fps in places on the current GPUs as well?
English

@nitzukai @LittleBigSpikey @realradec most of their primary posts are still open, so i have suspicions that development hasn't gone past the prototyping stage
English

@LittleBigSpikey @realradec they’ve been working on this since 2021, isn’t that bit too long of a time period for a racing game?
English

Out of all racing games we know of currently in development, this is one I'm the most curious to see
Open-world racing game with a deep focus on the narrative and characters, created by former Forza Horizon devs, first screenshot giving major TDU vibes
