How it finished 😃
We managed to compete 69km (42miles) of the full 84km route, missing the cut off to attempt the last 15k, of what was an incredibly hard event where over half the field of season trail runners missed the cut off or dropped out due to extreme weather conditions. (See the video!).
I’m not disappointed I didn’t complete the full distance, it’s the furthest I’ve ever run, on the hardest most dangerous and technical terrain, weather conditions were intense with snow, hail, and 25mph winds, which only made it more epic.
One of the best days of my life, and already want to come back next year and reattempt! (Don’t tell my wife).
Having a stoma didn’t hold me back at all, so I hope this post gives someone else the inspiration to do something cool. Thank you for all the messages, retweets and comments. Was amazing to read!

I found this very uncomfortable because my head was immediately suggesting each way in which it could be interpreted by others.
That’s what my anxiety does and the subsequent spiral leads to overthinking to misery and anger affecting others.
It’s a weekly thing for me.

Seven years since we lost the great Terry Wogan. The best we ever had on the radio in the UK. Once, when he had the biggest breakfast show in the country, he was asked how many listeners he had. "Just one", he said. "Always one". He absolutely got it.
