Most generative art still looks “too perfect.” This 6-year-old article by @bendotk on making it feel natural is still incredibly relevant. Tiny changes. Big impact. I often default to clarity and order. But nature isn’t perfectly aligned. I’m still learning to leave space for that.

Two pen & ink portraits, made 13 years apart For the first one, I self-imposed a rule of only using horizontal and vertical lines for the entire composition. It was shown at my high school. For the second one, I wrote a generative algorithm to process an image of myself, resulting in a fuzzy image made of fluid shapes. I projected the result onto a sheet of paper and hand-traced it in pen. It was shown at @GazelliArtHouse in 2023. I've always loved drawing people - very happy to be spending more of my time these days doing that

still processing the amazing time I had at my first MARF this year. What @ArtOnBlockchain and his team have built is truly special and the passion for digital art that I saw from this community gives me no doubt that we are on to something undeniable. 5 years into this journey I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of this crazy band of weirdos and I can’t wait to see what comes from the next 5 years of creating together. There will be ups and downs in the market but I can tell you these are ride or die mf’s. I would not bet against them. as a wise bearded man once said…. this is how we build. 💪❤️🙏
