Claude Code was my starting point, and honestly, it worked really well. OpenClaw was rougher around the edges at first. More moving parts. More chaos. Also more freedom. That mattered to me because I’ve been convinced from the start that this market will shift fast, and I didn’t want to build my workflow around a single vendor’s permission structure. So when Anthropic made their move, it wasn’t a crisis. We just changed models and kept going. That’s the advantage of open tooling. Appreciate @steipete and @openclaw for building it.

Anthropic just pulled Claude subscription access from third-party harnesses starting tomorrow. Message received. We're shifting to OpenAI and local models. Hard to build on someone who doesn't want you building.

Latest OpenClaw updates threw me for a loop for a bit. I definitely felt the pain of losing tool access for the last 24 to 48 hours while I worked through the new exec approvals model. Instead of just opening everything up, I took the time to understand the new approval flow and guardrails. Still early, but the security model is much needed, and I like the direction and work being put in to tighten things up where needed. Appreciate @steipete and the @OpenClaw team for the work going into it.

Went from zero to fully functional AI assistant in a day. It has access to my email, messages, notes, and docs. I can ask it to research topics. I can have it track things for me. I can text it like a coworker. All set up from my phone. No laptop required. Shoutout to @openclaw for making this possible.

Completely agree! Building mine on a completely different machine and have had to find different approaches to give it just enough access to be useful without opening up everything. Security side needs much more discussion in the growing community.

Not quite 24 hours later: 6 agents — 3 for marketing, 3 for development. Scheduled system reviews. Planned out marketing. Started integrating development workflows. Few hurdles along the way but tons of progress. Still blowing my mind. And it all runs on a simple VPS, old Mac, or whatever you have sitting around.

Day one, lots of questions. Does this actually save time, or just shift the work around? Can I trust it with real stuff? Will I still be using it in 3 months? No idea yet. But it's fun to explore, and I'm learning a lot watching what others are building with it.
