NZ & Cook Islands bury the hatchet and aid flows again. NZ looks to have lost little ground in talks: Cooks agrees NZ has first rights as defence/security "partner of choice" in new declaration. Similar language to Aus-Tuvalu deal.

New Zealand walking a different path on cost of living relief, no cuts to fuel excise.
PM Chris Luxon says the policy is "poorly targeted, it actually benefits high income households, and it actually encourages fuel use when it's constrained".

Dan was a journalist, tech geek, actor, and lover of (almost) everything to do with the Pacific. He was a brilliant @OCCRP editor, a mentor to many, and a friend to more.

@LewisHoldenNZ given he pauses between the claims I took them as separate claims. in any case Finland is arguably the answer to the combined claim - and indigenous women couldn't vote federally until the 1960s. so....

Carney is correct; even though women's suffrage was gained in NZ in 1893, women couldn't stand for parliament until 1919...
