While I disagree with the changes implemented at the publication, and had no role in planning them, I honestly hope I'm wrong. Best of luck to all of my former colleagues at L'Orient Today and OLJ; congrats on a record-setting month, and wish you all success in the future.

@ramezdagher @mich_h By my math, it's been 5,924 days since Mikati's gov't gained confidence on April 27, 2005. If we take that as a starting point, we've had no gov't for 1,419 days, just shy of 24% of the time. If we add in the gap between formation and confidence, it goes up to 27% of the time

@bnoujaim @timourazhari @lorienttoday Hi, we're separate newsrooms with separate editorial teams, but guided by the same basic editorial principles of empathy, transparency and critical inquiry. A number of pieces are translated and co-published, but the bulk of content in each is exclusive.

@benredd Big thanks, really. If not I would've started to listen to old episodes – would've been super nice actually but also seriously messed up my schedule : )

@benredd since I know you keep excellent track of this, would you mind reminding me, how many days did the last government formation take?

Had a great conversation with @Nizhsn and @benredd yesterday. We are all getting tired of talking about forensic audits, but it's important to document the details so we don't forget. Banking secrecy is a secondary issue at this point. The problem is there's no will to cooperate.

Episode 95 is out now! @Nizhsn & @benredd are joined by @AzarsTweets, NERD and finance professional, to talk the ins and outs of the postponed forensic audit of BDL, Lebanon's central bank (with honorable mention of the🐙) 🎙️ soundcloud.com/lebpoliticspod…

My latest: A Russian-organized conference in Damascus, with Lebanon's participation, seeks to promote Syrian refugee returns. I look at previous efforts to do this in Lebanon, why they haven't worked, and why this one likely won't either today.lorientlejour.com/article/1240459 via @lorienttoday
