@RBJHarvey7 @TheReall__6 Both are in the league yes, but there’s a huge difference between being a UDFA and getting taken from a pay standpoint. I find it hard to think a 6’3” 225 lb WR that moves like Jacoby with a full year of P4 experience doesn’t put up the numbers to get comfortably selected.

@RBJHarvey7 @TheReall__6 Really, in my opinion, if Gus played the best 11 on both sides of the ball, there would be more league guys because the cream would rise to the top. Instead we won’t ever know because he had his guys and nothing was gonna change the lineup.

@benross555 @TheReall__6 I get the point, but what I’m saying is, they weren’t getting the same opportunities they got at UCF at their previous locations. Gus brought them in and you can just discredit him for that. Kobe I can give you cuz he was a leading WR at auburn, but not the others

@RBJHarvey7 @TheReall__6 Gus does get credit for bringing in the talent. But he also hindered guys like Jacoby Jones, Ladarius Tennison, Kemore Gamble, etc. from getting better chances at the league by limiting their opportunities.

@RBJHarvey7 @TheReall__6 To Marlon’s point, Baker and Hudson were league guys regardless. Kobe was the leading WR at Auburn before transferring and Javon likely starts at Bama either the following year or year after. Baker had half the targets of most guys in his draft class so fwiw, Gus didn’t help him

@RBJHarvey7 @TheReall__6 Brother, we played Whittemore over Jacoby the whole season. I can list so many guys that got passed over by others under Malzahn’s regime that probably shouldn’t have. In hindsight if Jacoby gets the snaps he not only contributes more but maybe he’s drafted. 🤷🏻‍♂️ just saying

@TheReall__6 Kobe, maybe. But Javon, Brandon Johnson and Jacoby weren’t going to the league where they were previously at. Javon was buried in the Depth chart at Bama, he wasn’t starting over those guys. Jacoby never cracked north of 700 yards at Ohio

@Clay_Pasco @Sportsguy1345 @chris_domercant I agree wholeheartedly, and from a matchup standpoint you can be excited at the fact that we have a wildcard in Black that can be a true stud with the right coaching. Domercant is more proven and I think he is also a solid pickup, I’m just noting how underrated both seem to be.

@benross555 @Sportsguy1345 @chris_domercant The physicals are great. If anything, it’s in my best interest for Black to do great at UCF. However, I made this post about liking Domercant. I’m just trying to be realistic and acknowledge that FCS experience is higher quality than DII experience.

A guy that I think can make a breakout to be a top WR is #13 Chris Domercant (R-SR) -Transferred from Chattanooga -Recorded 640 Yds on 36 Rec. -Posted three 100+ yard games -Had six 20+ yard catches -Has solid experience at the D1 level

@Clay_Pasco @Sportsguy1345 @chris_domercant Well Black has 2 years of eligibility with elite physical traits at 6’3” 195 lbs while clocking a 4.39 40 yd dash. I don’t think you should be discounting him bc of the division he’s coming from. I do think there’s an adjustment but I trust he will succeed.

@benross555 @Sportsguy1345 @chris_domercant Teslaa also recorded 70 receptions for 1,325 yards and 13 touchdowns and was an All-American when he was a DII On top of that, in the 2023 season, he didn’t really see a lot of playing time at Arkansas. He developed and had a better year in 2024. Still, super rare.

@Clay_Pasco @Sportsguy1345 @chris_domercant Isaac Teslaa for Arkansas this past year got drafted in the 3rd round after transferring up from D2 Hillsdale College 2 years ago.

@Sportsguy1345 @chris_domercant Not trying to dish on Black here, but D2 and P5 might as well be completely different sports. There’s only 1 example within the last 5 years where a D2 receiver transferred to a P5 school and had a solid season. JaQue Jackson in 2023 recorded 300 yards at Rutgers, came from D2

@TylerOsik @UCF_Hibbert All I’m saying is they are hitting well, I don’t know why they do it but they do it and it doesn’t seem to be taking anything away from them.

@benross555 @UCF_Hibbert For me it doesn’t really matter what the result good or bad is. I still think it’s eye wash & takes away from competing in the box. Those seconds & milliseconds need to be used in other ways. If it worked MLB teams would do it.

I love UCF baseball. But can we stop giving the hand signs if it’s a breaking ball or change up?!? We all know what pitch it is by watching the shape of it from the side in the dugout & you can look up at the scoreboard to see the MPH to confirm what your eyes just told you. It’s just eyewash. Let’s focus on hitting in the cage until you can’t miss & being winning baseball players consistently. I’ve never seen anybody do this in my whole life in baseball. If it worked or made a difference, MLB would do it.

Proud of our group in the weight room so far this fall! Our team averaged a gain of 15.6LBS per player in floor press, 21.9lbs in front squat and 43.9lbs in Deadlift. 3,650 lbs gained in total. Excited for our next phase in our strength and conditioning program. @Coach_JTowle
