Chief Justice Martha Koome has called for deeper collaboration among justice sector players to ensure fair, efficient and people-centred service delivery.
Speaking during the launch of the Administrative Justice in Kenya Annual Report 2024/2025 and unveiling of the monitoring, evaluation and learning guiding framework for Kenya’s Justice Sector 2025, the Chief Justice emphasised the importance of accountability, integrity, fairness and innovation in enhancing access to justice.
She noted that the report reflects progress made in strengthening partnerships and improving efficiency in court processes. " Our goal is to ensure that justice is not only done but seen to be done efficiently, transparently and with respect for human dignity," she said.
Addressing the forum, Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen commended NCAJ's progress and urged for an integrated justice system that delivers tangible outcomes. He emphasised that justice and security are interdependent, noting that justice cannot flourish without security.
The CS applauded the Judiciary’s efforts in court digitisation and encouraged enhanced collaboration among all justice actors, from law enforcement to correctional facilities to ensure seamless service delivery and public trust.
In her remarks, Correctional Services Principal Secretary Dr Salome M-Beacco, reaffirmed the State Department’s commitment to transformative correctional reforms focused on rehabilitation, reintegration and human dignity, noting that sustained inter-agency collaboration is key to achieving a fair and inclusive justice system. Presenting on Emerging Issues in Correctional Reforms for Effective Delivery of Justice, the PS highlightes ongoing initiatives aimed at reducing overcrowding, strengthening community-based correctional programs and modernising facilities to enhance rehabilitation, reformation and reduce recidivism.
Present during the occasion were Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Gladys Shollei, Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, Commissioner General of Prisons Patrick Aranduh, Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo, Secretary PACS Christine Obondi, NCAJ Executive Director Dr Moses Maranga, Development partners and stakeholders

The Constitution guarantees freedoms, but citizens must guard them. Guarding is not grim it is vibrant. It looks like murals, poetry, street theatre, and bold debates. That is what #UwaziFestival2025 celebrates. #KatibaAt15

Today, I held a brainstorming session with the top management of the National Employment Agency (NEA) and the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) to address the pressing issues raised by Private Employment Agencies during my recent town hall meeting at KICC. The session was focused on devising pragmatic and practical measures to streamline the recruitment of Kenyans for jobs overseas.
