Anybody with eyes can see that endurance sports are bad for you.
Your joints degenerate. muscle wastes away, nervous system burns out, tissue degrades.
Repeated cardiac strain causes chronic energy deficits, high cortisol, and suppressed hypothalamic signaling. Your natural antioxidant function can't keep up with the constant catabolic damage.
Endurance athletes have up to 10x greater prevalence of Atrial fibrillation. Everybody has heard of a health freak athlete who died of sudden heart complications. Now we're seeing increased incidence of colon cancer in long-distance runners.
I'm all for people destroying themselves in pursuit of greatness, but lets not pretend that endurance training is good for you.

@bentobean24 @KY_PDX But Beaverton is lame as fuck. Haha...it is beautiful in that area ( Portland and surrounding area)
The population is annoying but you can go an hour in any direction and find amazing nature not to mention mammoth lakes, sequoia and Yosemite .
LA is amazing if you leave often

@ellobosalvaje also, in this economy, if you can live in a suburb, youre blessed
English

The suburbs are where energetic young men go to fade into obscurity. I have watched it happen dozens of times.
A man with real potential and momentum signs a mortgage in a development 10 minutes from every strip mall and chain restaurant, and inside of 5 years you cannot find the man who was there before.
The environment shapes you more than you shape it. Most people have this twisted backwards. They believe their character is fixed and the environment is simply the setting. It is the exact opposite. The setting is actively producing the character every day.
Live in the thick of the action or get completely away from it all. Both are environments that demand something from you. The middle zone asks nothing and that is exactly what it produces.
English

@ellobosalvaje you got it backwards, once a man realizes true success and potential, you realize peace, calmness, security is most important. thats what the suburbs give you

@Dr_Crossroads question - out of your entire porfolio, what’s the max percentage holding you’d have in one stock? 20% is up there for me, but curious for your thoughts

Seattle rejecting a BART style heavy rail system not once, but multiple times has got to be one of the greatest transit what-ifs.
On the flip side MARTA in Atlanta was the prime beneficiary of those federal funds.
